Evaluation of the Commonwealth's Entry into the Nurse Licensure Compact

The Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) is an interstate compact that allows nurses in a state that has adopted the Compact to hold a license permitting them to practice in all Compact states, rather than obtain a license in each individual state in which they wish to practice. This legislatively-mandated report presents analyses and recommendations regarding the Commonwealth’s entry into the NLC, including an overview of nurse job vacancies in Massachusetts, whether entry into the NLC would increase the Commonwealth’s emergency and pandemic preparedness, and evaluation of other states’ entry into the NLC.
