Employees are required to provide proof of vaccination by October 26, 2021
BOSTON — Today, the Massachusetts Health Policy Commission (HPC) announced that, to protect the health of safety of its workforce, all employees will be required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination on or before October 26, 2021. The requirement aligns with policies implemented by Governor Charlie Baker, Attorney General Maura Healey, and the city of Boston, as well as numerous businesses and health systems across the Commonwealth.
Employees are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after their second dose of either the Moderna or Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, and two weeks after a single dose of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine. As guidance from the CDC regarding booster vaccines is issued, employees will also be responsible for updating their documentation to demonstrate they have received such doses as needed to maintain fully vaccinated status.
This mandate applies to all HPC employees and interns, regardless of whether they work remotely or in the HPC’s Boston office, unless they qualify for an accommodation on the basis of disability or a sincerely held religious belief.
Any employee who is not in compliance with this policy by October 26, 2021, shall be subject to consequences which may include increased safety measures, unpaid leave, or termination.
