Statement from HPC Executive Director David Seltz on New HPC Board

BOSTON — “The Massachusetts Health Policy Commission (HPC) extends our sincere gratitude to Governor Maura Healey for the reappointment of HPC Board Chair Deborah Devaux and appointment of new and returning members to the HPC Board of Commissioners. The full slate of commissioners bring essential experience and policy expertise to the Board, and their leadership will help guide the HPC in addressing some of the Commonwealth’s most pressing challenges – including mounting affordability issues, workforce constraints, and threats to health care access.

“These appointments align with the implementation of historic health care legislation signed by Governor Healey earlier this year, aimed at tackling rising drug costs, strengthening primary care, expanding oversight of private equity in health care, and better protecting this state from predatory actors. With these enhanced oversight authorities and these new appointments, the Healey-Driscoll Administration has empowered the HPC to address these challenges head-on, and we look forward to our continued collaboration on ensuring that the Commonwealth’s health care system puts patients first.” - HPC Executive Director David Seltz
